I was born, and grew up, in Romford, Essex, and have lived in Billericay and Stock before moving in 2004 to Galleywood, near Chelmsford. I live with my husband Alan and Burmese cat Charlie, have three married daughters and a baby grandson.
I've been writing as a hobby ever since I was a little girl, and finally achieved my lifelong ambition to have a novel published, with the acceptance in 2002 of 'The Trouble With Ally'.
Prior to this, I'd been having short stories published in women's magazines for about ten years and won two first prizes in writing competitions during the 1990s.
| Until my recent retirement I worked as a secretary (a medical secretary for most of my life), writing in my spare time. I'm now a full-time writer.
When not writing, I like to relax by reading, walking, swimming, going to pubs and restaurants and seeing my family and friends.
I am passionate about my writing and love to hear from my readers. I also enjoy giving talks about writing to writers' groups and other organisations, and book signings. |
